PL198 Philosophy of Concern – Loyola Marymount Univ. Fall 1976
One vivid memory from this course was spending the night in a home in Boyle Heights of a group that ran a soup kitchen on Skid-Row, listening to these activists and then going downtown to work at the soup kitchen in the morning. I think the point was to take Philosophy out of some area of abstraction and give it a human face or faces. Would that more of my courses employed such an uncomfortable use of Reality. Class notes posted below the research journal (2017-10-26).
