Video Tuesdays: Malala Day At UN: Teen Activist Shot By Taliban UN Speech

In the wake of the recent madness with all sides lobbing more hate and cries for justice this 16-year-old survivor of a Taliban attack challenged the world in her address to the UN: “One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world. Education is the only solution. Education first… We cannot all succeed when half of us are held back… Malala Day is not my day. Today is the day of every woman, every boy and every girl who have raised their voice for their rights.” Enough with all of the chest pounding and misappropriations of civil rights heroes, it is past time to work toward a solution that works for all children. It’s not their fault, primarily because there is no “them,” there is only “us.” Get over it and get on with the work. Anything less is unworthy of our species.
