Video Mondays: FOMO – A Social Networking Horror Story

So what happens when our access to social networks only brings home how disconnected some of us are? We have lots of “friends,” but like the girl in the trailer, we always just manage to not be in the same place at the same time with them. Maybe it’s an age thing, but I remember having drop-in friends who’d just come by and there always seemed to be things to do with them at least once a week if not more. But then everyone began to settle down and the drop-ins slowed down to a … “well, let’s see if I can fit you in next week” kind of thing. Chances are I wouldn’t notice any of this had my primary relationship(s) had any longevity. Oops. Off the beaten path again. I know I’m giving more thought to what was supposed to be a funny “aren’t people caught up in social networks weird” kind of thing. I guess what’s funny in your 20s is more poignant when you are in your 50s.
